Corn bread sticks
1 pt. fine corn meal
1 tablespoon shortening
1 scant teaspoon salt
3 well-beaten eggs
1 pt. flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Small amount milk

Scald the meal with just enough bioling water to moisten. Add shortening and salt. Cover closely and set aside to cool. Add eggs, flour and baking powder. Add milk to make thin batter. Bake in hot oven. When using less eggs, add more baking powder, about 1 teaspoon for every egg omitted.
